The songs composed by His Majesty the King of Thailand are known worldwide by the beauty of its melodies and lyrics and are regarded today as the nation’s genuine cultural heritage. His Majesty’s expertise in music compositions which began at the early age of twenty during his childhood years spent in Switzerland made him one of Thailand’s leading composers of international music. From the improvisation of jazz through military marches and the gentleness of a ballad, many of the King’s melodies are familiar to us all and are recognized today as Thai classics. Both Thai and English adaptations resulted in a total number of 78 versions that were published in 1969 and 1967.

In early 2009, His Majesty gave Royal Permission to Premika Sucharitkul, a well reputed expert in French, for 27 of his musical inspirations to be revived and adapted for the first time in French to be released in an album entitled 'Gitasiravadha…Till Eternity', in reference to the letter from the Division of His Majesty’s Personal Affaires ref. : 0003.1/318 dated January 9, 2009.
